Mineeli’s story

Life can sometimes be difficult, especially in developing countries where a person may learn a skill or trade only to find no job opportunities waiting for them or the lack of money to begin their own business. Many people dream of opening internet cafes, business centers, book stores, sewing shops, hostels all with the hopes that the Lord will provide assistance in one way or another.
Such is the dream of Mineeli Mndeme, a 20-year-old lady with a 6-month old son, Calvin. Mineeli and her son live with her widowed mother and four siblings in one room. I would guess the room to be 10 ft x 10 ft. This one room serves as bedroom, living room and kitchen. The family moved to Same town as Mineeli’s mom was able to find work at the church office. They are willing to live in close quarters while they build their own house just outside of town. Their living condition is typical of many families in rural Tanzania.
Mineeli is a trained seamstress; however without the funds to procure a sewing machine, she spends her days at home with nothing to do. Through contributions from people in America, we were able to present Mineeli with a new sewing machine and 2 pairs of scissor. She now has the necessary equipment to hone her skills and to provide a future for her son. Mineeli gives thanks and praise to God for this gift of life.
