The local chapter of Habitat for Humanity works in partnership to build simple, decent houses that are sold to partner families at no profit through zero-interest loans. St. Paul provides funding support and willing workers.
On occasion, St. Paul volunteers roll up their sleeves for concentrated workdays. If you’re interested in being a regular volunteer, either pounding nails or serving lunch, contact Terry Timmerman at 359-9066, . Lunch, as well as a breakfast snack, is provided for all workers.

Growing in the St. Paul Community Garden (in back of the home at 2025 Main St.) is an abundance of tomatoes, beets, turnips, cabbage, brussels sprouts, peppers, lettuce, basil — and surprisingly few weeds.
Whatever the garden yields is being delivered to Café on Vine on Sixth Street in Davenport, or the Central Community Circle Food Pantry on Vine Street, directly across the street from the café.
In the block just south of St. Paul, the house at 2025 Main St. is home to several women with long-term mental illness. The congregation maintains the house and yard, and looks for other ways to support the residents.
The neighborhood ministry, in partnership with Vera French Housing Corporation, reaches out beautifully with the love and peace of Jesus Christ.
Davenport’s Hilltop Campus Village is envisioning a revitalized central-city area with a vibrant business district, reinvestment in properties, and cohesive neighborhood.
The neighborhood – which includes St. Ambrose University, Palmer College of Chiropractic, and St. Paul Lutheran Church – covers the area between Ripley and Perry Streets, Lombard Street on the north, and 5th Street on the south, including the Harrison/Brady Streets corridor.
St. Paul joins others in a keen interest in strengthening the core of the city. Come, be part of revitalizing the neighborhood.
St. Paul sponsors two opportunities to give blood each year. The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center sets up a mobile clinic that inspires the generosity of St. Paul people.
