Starting Jan. 16, St. Paul Church will be host to a 13-week series called Financial Peace University (FPU), a nationally-recognized program by Dave Ramsey, a personal money management expert.
The series will be held on Sundays, beginning Jan. 16, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Luther Loft. Childcare will be provided by the church on request.
Each session begins with a one-hour video presentation by Ramsey, followed by group discussion that calls for support, accountability, and genuine behavior change.
Ramsey’s mission is to give hope and new life to everyone — from the financially secure to the financially distressed. It’s for people of every age and economic reality, for single people and couples.
FPU is geared for a church setting, providing tools and biblically-based accountability for personal money management.
Sign up in the elevator area starting Jan 2.
Commonsense topics include cash flow, dumping debt, buying decisions, investments and planning, and freedom for generous giving.
The Ramsey organization has set a $99 fee for each household registering for the series. It’s rare for St. Paul to host a series with this sort of fee attached, but it’s an indication that the content comes highly recommended in church settings across the country.
The fee should be paid to St. Paul by the first session.
