Pastoral Search

Have you heard of “six degrees of separation”? It’s the conviction that, in a chain of acquaintances, a person is at most six steps away from any other person on earth.

Ron Mullen, chair of our Pastoral Search Call Committee, believes in connections. He’s convinced that someone in this church knows someone else who knows someone else… who knows the associate pastor who will be a match for St. Paul congregation.

So let’s get the synapses firing. Who do you know? What have you heard? What pastor might you recommend to round out our full-time long-term pastoral staff? Every idea is worth mentioning.

Our hope is to connect with a gifted associate pastor who knows the ropes of ministry, who has a heart for counseling, and who grasps the pastoral qualities that build community and deepen relationships.

The Pastoral Search Call Committee consists of (left to right, above): Ann Stern, Steve Hart, Marcia Robertson, Ron Mullen, Christa Orfitelli, Alex Sierk, and Steve Baril. (Lynn Gibson is not pictured.) The committee will be working with the Southeastern Iowa Synod ELCA in surfacing candidates.
