Summer learning

News | July 1, 2025

At St. Paul, faith is a lifelong journey. As Lutheran Christians, we are continually growing—seeking deeper meaning and stronger connection with God throughout all stages of life. Intentional faith formation is central to who we are, and we cherish opportunities to learn alongside one another.

This summer, there are learning (and fun) opportunities for all ages and life stages!

Adult learning
“That They All May Be One (John 17:21)”
Third Missionary Baptist Church (TMBC), 222 W 14th St, Davenport and St. Paul Lutheran Church
Wednesdays, July 9-31, 2025; 12 noon-1 p.m. and 6-7 p.m. (duplicate sessions)
Led in collaboration by Pastor Rogers Kirk, Jr., Pastor Peter A. Pettit, and Minister Joshua Cribbs.

John’s gospel focuses on the unity of Jesus’ believers and those who follow them. Jesus’ time of ministry reaches its height on this note in his prayer as he faces his final week in Jerusalem. As disciples ourselves, we share both the hope and the call of unity.

As Americans, we know the disunity of race and class and culture that has divided us. The people of Third Missionary Baptist Church and St. Paul Lutheran Church join together this July in a mutual exploration of the promises, challenges, and joys of unity in the gospel, seeking to live it out more fully in our community.
