Liz Franks named youth coordinator
Liz Franks, spouse of our newest pastoral resident Max Franks, has just been named by the church council to be St. Paul’s full-time youth coordinator. She will walk alongside high school students in their faith and life journeys. Liz’s leadership skills will deepen and strengthen the faith, friendships, and leadership gifts of high school students who end up gathering at St. Paul from all over the Quad Cities.
“Some of my greatest passions include serving people, creating art, and traveling. I love to spend time with people from all walks of life and hear their stories,” Liz said. “As a former teacher and social worker, my passion to serve others has been the cornerstone of my career leading up to joining the staff at St. Paul.”
“Liz brings a unique combination of talents to the St. Paul youth ministry. From her high school teaching and social service background to her deep faith formation since childhood, we are fortunate,” noted search committee chair, Patty Herzberg. “Her enthusiasm and passion for connecting with youth and their families will bring so much meaning to our program. The timing couldn’t be better as we head into a busy autumn. We’re excited that this opportunity to pair her gifts with our needs presented itself.”
While Liz will lead our youth ministry in a full-time capacity for the next couple of years, the search committee for a permanent youth director remains in place. When a permanent director is identified, he or she will work alongside Liz, adding yet more depth to our ministry with youth.
