Celebrating Peter & Susan Marty

Sunday, June 2, 4-6 p.m., North Lawn

Mark your calendars for an early evening of food, music, games, and celebration. Bring your lawn chair and your joy of being together. Dinner and desserts will be provided. The church lawn will be full of fun and fellowship for all ages.

This time together is an opportunity to celebrate the many years of dedication Peter and Susan Marty have given to St. Paul and the Quad Cities community. Send them off with one final party, St. Paul-style!

Peter, Susan, Jacob, and Rachel Marty arrived at St. Paul 28 years ago. During the weekend of June 29 and 30, 1996, Peter stepped behind the St. Paul pulpit for the first time. Throughout their time here, the church has grown exponentially. A new sanctuary was completed, the pastoral residency program established, Madison Market fed thousands of families, and mental health housing began and expanded. Not to mention the thousands of lives that have been impacted for the better because of the Martys.

This last month together is a time of celebration and gratitude for these many years shared. Though this journey will end soon, revel in the blessings of the memories created together.

An ingathering of cards with well wishes and gratitude for Peter and Susan is invited. Peter’s final weekend of preaching will be June 8 and 9. Drop your greeting card (to their attention) in a basket at the receptionist’s desk inside the office area or mail your greeting to church (in their name), in the coming month. Peter and Susan will be honored during their final weekend of June 8 and 9. A reception in the gathering area will follow each worship service.
