Christmas pageant: The Good News Broadcast
Live from St. Paul, it’s Bethlehem News.
The pageant is a story that you might have heard before: the birthday of a Savior. With costumes, singing, and storytelling, kids will share the tale of Jesus’ birth.
Narrator 1: Today, merely days before Christmas, we’re going to tell you a great story.
Narrator 2: You know it. But imagine if it were a news broadcast and you were hearing these words for the first time.
Matthew: Hello, Davenport Iowa, I’m your news anchorman Fisherman Matthew and thank you for tuning in to Bethlehem News. The latest report I have for you is about the birth of a very important king. It all started long ago.
The 2019 Christmas pageant will be Sunday, Dec. 22, 10:15 a.m., in the Sanctuary. All are invited to attend. Come and watch this annual tradition unfold the Sunday before Christmas. With Christmas carol favorites such as “Away in a Manger” and “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” the story is a familiar one but with a twist, written by Kendra Thompason, pastor of children and family life at St. Paul.
Narrator 2: And that, people of God, is the good news of Jesus Christ for all of humanity …
Narrator 1: …and to think you heard it here first on your Bethlehem news station.
Narrator 1 & 2: Tell your friends!
