Advent devotion: God’s potential

Growing up I found myself struggling for both acceptance and guidance. Not finding guidance, I took acceptance from the first group I found. I found myself going the wrong direction and not even realizing it. A few years later, I found myself in a tough spot. I was not involved with what went wrong, but those I associated with were. If it hadn’t been for two other kids known for being honest, I may have been in big trouble because of other so called friends. 396453_517046271643550_691386064_n

A week later, my math teacher pulled me out of class and had a talk with me. This teacher changed the direction of my life. He believed in me and saw my potential – the same potential God knows is in me. It is my belief that God spoke through this teacher so I could live up to the life that God has given me.

All of you who fear God, come and listen. I will tell you what God has done for me (Psalm 66:16).
